The Krakovsky Documents: Utilization of the Data by the Ukraine Research Group and Its Preservation on JewishGen

For several years, Alex Krakovsky, a Ukrainian Jew, has been scanning metrical and census records found in long-closed Ukranian archives. He has placed the indexes, in Cyrillic, on a webpage where they can easily be accessed by anyone interested. This presentation will discuss the origin and method of Alex’s data acquisition, and then give an overview of the contents of his site and archive wiki pages along with the efforts of the Ukraine Research Division of JewishGen to make these records accessible to all researchers

Gary is the Data Acquisition Director and a member of the advisory board for the Ukraine Research Division-JewishGen and town leader of 5 shtetls, treasurer and director of JRI – Poland, and VP Programming of JGS of Long Island. He published the Alex Krakovsky Project in Avotaynu, Summer 2020 and has given many lectures both advanced and beginner

George Richard has been researching his family for 15 years and has uncovered many secrets along the way. George will demonstrate his tricks to finding people and building a family tree of over 9,700 people. George will offer practical suggestions on how you can find more members of your family.
