MEMBERS ONLY - See JGSLI email for Zoom link and other important information
The meeting will feature two hours of HANDS-ON RESEARCH with many of JGSLI’s Mishpocha Mavens available – in person and online – to answer your research questions.
Members who attend in person will also enjoy a short Hanukkah celebration with potato latkes and sufganiyot (jelly doughnuts). (Sorry, remote participants will have to provide their own Hanukkah noshes.)
How does this work, you may ask?
Members may submit questions in advance or come to the meeting prepared with a question. Questions sent in advance will have precedence. Questions should be specific, concise and provide any necessary background details. For example, “I am looking for my great grandfather, Simon Lackier, in records in Seduva, Lithuania. He was born around 1870 and his father’s name may have been Berel. His Hebrew name was Yehoshua.”
We will assign a table or breakout room to each maven and will list their areas of expertise. Meeting Monitors will then direct you to the appropriate table (in-person) or breakout room (on Zoom). To allow as many people as possible to participate, each session with a maven will be limited to 15 minutes.
Attendees who don’t have a question are welcome to listen in as mavens work with others.
There is more!
This meeting will include our annual election of JGSLI Officers and Board of Directors. See the attachments for the JGSLI Slate for the elections and for a sample list of topics.
